As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

So Iraq broke the news that the abbott was going to pop in for a visit over a week ago, so much for the "unannounced" visit.
It's one thing to visit Iraq but I'm curious about why he offers them money.
Surely we're not paying them for letting our troops fight over there.

Costa had previously revealed plans to employ 750 people this harvest season, including backpackers and Tongan workers, and said it wanted 30 per cent of its workforce to be locals.
Tongan fruit pickers?? what are they doing here? when so many locals are looking for work

Almost $100 billion was wiped off the market value of the six Macau casino stocks in 2014 after a crackdown on corruption by the Chinese government led the gambling enclave to report its first ever fall in gaming revenue.
Gambling billionaires such as James Packer, Sheldon Adelson and Stanley Ho have been left with large holes in their pockets as analysts debate when a recovery may turn the fortunes of the world’s largest gambling hub.
hmmm. guess that means he's been making dirty money.
No wonder he's been punching people

The big business groups have got they own way enough already.
If they want to change our parliament they should stand for election. If not butt out. If policy was reasonable it would get passed by the conservative cross bench senators.

The Victorian Government has slammed its predecessor for spending millions of dollars in taxpayer funds advertising its transport plans, some of which were years off completion.
Fairfax Media has reported that the former Napthine government spent $15 million advertising future projects to upgrade public transport and roads.
Those projects included the East West Link, which has been dumped by the Andrews Government and the airport rail link, which was not due to open until 2026.
The Special Minister of State, Gavin Jennings, said the Victorian public was "appalled" that so much public money was "wasted" to sell these projects.
"They [the community] are sick and tired of being taken for a ride by governments that want to sell them propositions," he said.
"The Napthine government not only had a track record of wasting public money in this way on advertising, but trying to cover it up.
"Freedom of information requests for a year were denied by the outgoing government."

It probably has to do with paying them less and being able to charge them for accomodation, put 32 to a house
and them not knowing any better.
You can't do that with locals.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has blasted in his strongest terms yet the US management of Iraq following the 2003 invasion, branding it a period of "chaos and confusion".

They are voters just like you, why should they butt out.
I could say that the Greens and Left minorities have thier own way enough already.
What they say is correct, it is hindering the Gov't and yet you have the gall to say no jobs being created but
won't let reform happen so they can get on with it.
Have your cake and eat it too !!!

Maybe it was so the Iraqi PM wouldn't mention the fact that the abbott govt has been sending Iraqi asylum seekers back to Iraq or locking them up like criminals. We can afford humanitarian aid, we are an international embarrassment with our gutless cuts to foreign aid.
