Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Never heard anything good about Walmart actually.

I am sure there are better priced and better quality goods available on Ebay before Walmart!!

Better priced ? Hard to beat.

I did hear one thing about the Walton Family. One of the sons joined the Army during Vietnam, never mentioned that he was one of the Waltons,
was with a very secretive Special Forces unit and won a bravery medal as a medic when under severe fire with lots of severely wounded.

John T Walton seemed to be cut from a different cloth that some others.
"Walton, one of three sons of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton and a member of the company's board, was a major advocate of school vouchers, supporting efforts to create taxpayer-funded ways for students to attend private schools.

Walton founded the Children's Scholarship Fund in 1998 to provide low-income families with money to send their children to private schools. The foundation started with $67 million from the Walton Family Foundation and benefited more than 67,000 children."

As one example.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

wow!

Education is sure cheap in USA.

Only $1,000 USD to send a kid to a private school for what 12 years.

Costs about $9,000+ a year (last time I checked) to send a kid to a private high school here in Australia.

Private schools in the U.S.A cost about the same as they do here.

The national average private school tuition is approximately $9,966 per year. The private elementary school average is $7,317 per year and the private high school average is $13,187 per year.

I was reading last night that voters in Qld have to be enrolled by the 10th. today is the 7th.  How do they do it these days, can new young voters enrol online? when my kids did it, they did it by mail and it took about 2 weeks. Are they trying to put off young voters in Qld?

So why is our Australian Govt refusing to stop overseas/foreign investors from buying up our residential real estate?

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

why are there soooo many visiters on this thread especially - from USA Debs?

Did not know that most of them knew where Australia was or that they were absolutely riveted to the goings on in Aussie politics......

Are these 'visitors' working for Murdoch Press....for Rupes....and the intention is perhaps to derail this thread and take it off course?

jus askin'
