As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Reconciling faith with political power
Julian Burnside is puzzled by Scott Morrison's faith. Burnside examines Morrison's maiden speech to Parliament, in which he stated that his values come from his faith in Jesus, and concludes that Morrison is a hypocrite (Comment, 23/12). Others, including myself, are puzzled that the most Catholic Coalition Cabinet in Australia's history can be so cruel in slashing our aid program โ the lowest in our history. Australia is the fourth richest nation but will slip to 19th position in the generosity stakes in the 2016/17 financial year.

Assistant Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is defying the wishes of Liberal Party members in his own state who have expressly called on the Coalition government to "refrain" from charging online shoppers the GST by reopening talk of the idea.
Currently anyone who buys goods costing less than $1000 from overseas websites does not pay the ten per cent in Goods and Services Tax.
Mr Frydenberg placed the issue back on the table on Boxing Day, just days after being named new Assistant Treasurer in Prime Minister Tony Abbott's end of year ministerial reshuffle.
The Victorian Liberal MP said the upcoming tax White Paper will take another look at the issue with concerns it's costing Australian jobs

A pink matriarchs dream man
You would not have a clue what any woman's dream man is. One thing for sure, it would not be someone who constantly disparages women.

Julia Gillard must have made an impression. She was two PM's ago and is still the main feature of posts.

Oh she made an impression alright.
And I really felt sorry for her about that. It's only that it's no holds barred around here about nasty stuff being posted about TA that I decided to post it.
