As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Correct, debra, and there is no getting away from that. No wonder TA decided to take his holidays now. Has to be seen as unavailable but the truth is he is unwanted.

Facts to prove that is true required, thanks
What has on air time got to do with what a presenter earns?

The government has staked the key economic battlegrounds for 2015. And they seem to take aim at the poorest

I thought it would be clear by now, this thread was started to discuss the current Govt. There were plenty of threads on CS when the last Govt was in power - perhaps re-read them if anyone is interested in the last Labor Govt in power?
Criticism of a current Govt is quite normal (unless you live in a country where you can be jailed for that or worse) We don't live in such a country thankfully.
Still would love to see a thread started to sing the praises and show the achievements of the current PM and his Govt.

of course, anyone is welcome to start up a wonderful govt. thread. No takers so far

QLD
In 2012, David Gibson resigned as the LNP Government's first police minister after admitting he had been driving while his licence was suspended.
Ms Barton was the LNP's third candidate for the Gold Coast seat of Broadwater in the 2012 election.
The first candidate was caught drink-driving and the second was disendorsed by the LNP after visiting a swingers club.
I know most of that has been posted here before, but I didn't register David Gibson was Police Minister whilst driving when his licence was suspended.
What a low calibre of candidates. Three times in a row.. duds.
