As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

#FoxNewsFacts - How Birmingham and Twitter hilariously hit back at claims by US TV 'terrorism expert'
Founder of The Investigative Project on Terrorism appeared on Fox News claiming Birmingham was a completely Muslim city and that non-Muslims did not go there.
Birmingham used humour instead of anger to hit back at claims made by a self-styled terrorism expert on US television that the UK's second city was a "totally Muslim city" and a place where non-Muslims did not go.
Steve Emerson, founder of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, was interviewed on Fox News as more than a million people marched through Paris in a show of unity after the terrorist attacks in France last week.
He told American viewers that Europe was not doing enough to combat the rise of Islamic extremism before making the wild claim that: "In Britain, it's not just no-go zones, there are actual cities like Birmingham that are totally Muslim where non-Muslims just simply don't go in.
"And in parts of London, there are actually Muslim religious police that actually beat and actually wound seriously anyone who doesn't dress according to Muslim, religious Muslim attire."
Twitter users in Birmingham and the rest of Britain immediately began pouring scorn on his claims, tweeting hundreds of nonsense "facts", ranging from the the sarcastic to the surreal, using the #foxnewsfacts hashtag.
Throughout Sunday night and Monday morning #foxnewsfacts was the No.1 trend in the UK on Twitter.
After a few hours, Emerson issued a grovelling apology to the "beautiful city of Birmingham" and promised to make a donation to a city charity, expected to be Birmingham Children's Hospital.

On issue after issue Abbott's followers have nothing to contribute but hysterical rhetoric and poll-driven tactics, oversized cartoons (please note which side posts the most of these) and quotes from Larry Pickering.

During the post-war Golden Age (1945-1973), productivity gains almost instantly became manifest as wage increases. But for the past thirty years, productivity gains have instead enabled corporations to shed workers. Increasing labour’s share of national income would be a valuable first step, but with jobs disappearing it may not be enough. A basic income guarantee is probably the best solution. Otherwise, technological progress might end up making us insecure and poor rather than rich and free.

which leads me to.............
A Basic Income Guarantee has been discussed in this article............very interesting opinion and ideas........
"We can afford a basic income guarantee.
We can give every citizen enough money to survive.
It will stimulate an economy starved of demand.
It will make our society more equitable.
It will feed the hungry and house the homeless.
It respects the individual.
It provides a constant level of demand that firms can depend on and so stimulate the animal spirits of businessmen.
It will strengthen workers bargaining position because they will be able to tell their employers to “take this job and shove it.”
It will also reduce labour costs since firms won’t be required to provide a living wage.
It will give us more free time to dance and play and love our children.
I would also suggest, it might just end up making us better human beings."

I wonder if this idea has been discussed or even suggested by present Govt?

Bother I forgot to add an oversize image. Not one of Qld politics, with a references going back to 2012 (is that allowed?) So how about a current image of the TLS share price under our malodorous "Govt".
I must give "credit" where it is due apropos the steady rise in TLS shareholding value since the ALP/ACTU attempted to manage the NBN under Conroy and bully Telstra, bad move, but not for those actually aware of basic economics and the share market. Am I allowed to go back to the Circus days?
Anyway here is today's BIG chart (closing price $6.11) from 2011onwards. Am I allowed to go back that far as It was during Poor Me's reign?
PS
CBA shares have reached $85.30, when the malodorous "Govt" moved in they were $73.50, did I mention the dividends?
I once voted for Rudd, then Gillard, not Abbott. During those periods (and still) I have been happy, and made money regardless of the political colour on display. I do wonder at the foot stamping and apparent unhappiness which permeate this thread. However, it can be "fun" participating in The Sandpit, and its often "sans research" "independent" C&Ps.
I have not used this for a while:

Are you contributing in an 'on topic' fashion monman......or are you just bragging and 'shareing' in a selfish and conceited way-as usual, when you cannot argue against facts and truth regards the shyte that this current Govt is pumping out and sledging?
jus' askin'.....'tis awl?
