Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Do you have a link to prove the 3 for 1 staff thing or are you just saying that? 😀

None of it deflects from the real issues of today though.

That we have an incompetent out of touch govt.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

It was a while ago I read it.

Two in particular ex ABC'ers said it.

To be honest I was a bit surprised.

It wasn't a right media article (that I know of), it was getting views on what was wrong with the ABC.

I'll try and look for it.

Glee

Have how ever seen some of the monumental cocks up (they don't have to be big, just in terms of impact a small

decision can have) that occur because of the Greens who run on ideology and not practicality.

And I'm not talking about the Greens party (although they are nearly as bad), more people on the ground.

ref

No, love it here, just don't like some of those on the left (and a few on the right) of the spectrum.

Greenies being the major one as they add nothing much to anything except hinderance, even

on conservation stuff where they have no concept of reality / the real world when they should.

...............................................................................................................................................................................

I agree loosely with your message.....but imo the WHOLE lot of the LNP are rotten due to Tony Abbott and their shyte policies!

Also, the main problem with the Greens imo is not that they hinder things but they lack follow through and guts.

We crossed posts. Read the one above yours.

They do hinder things, especially development.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

If you mean 'hinder' things when they get things like impact assessment submissions done and demand environmental studies to be done to show problems.....and this then hinders the start of some environmentally unsound, pollution causing or damaging project?....then so be it. Should be like this!!

Development should never be at the cost of our precious environment.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

EVERYTHING is bad in their eyes when it comes to development, except if it involves

bulldozing roads on pristine land to build wind turbines.

I was thinking practicalities on the ground.

One example - Orange bellied parrot, comes over from Tas to Vic and SA.

Study was done, we were catching them on the coast as part of someone's PhD.

It became apparent that Sheep were located at Pt Wilson and the Greens jumped up and down about it,

so much that the sheep were removed. End result, the parrots pi ssed off because the Sheep were the

reason they were there, eating the salt bush which kept a continual supply of new growth coming for them

to eat.

So all they see is sheep and autoamtically they think "bad, must be removed".

I could give numerous other examples.

"Development should never be at the cost of our precious environment."

One rule for the Greens, one rule for everyone else.

They are quite happy to clear land for a road into a hillside to put up a wind turbine.

No link?

Hey Vic, have a look at the article on fracking that I posted in the mining thread, the one from Oklahoma, speaking of development made me think of that. It's not what we want.
