As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

No, lol, nor will having 3 daughters, being a firefighter and a lifesaver (not active at either of those) save him from his political woes.

Momentum builds for Tony Abbottโs leadership spill
31 minutes ago
Momentum is building for a spill of Prime Minister Tony Abbottโs leadership on Tuesday with more MPs either going public or backgrounding their unhappiness with the Prime Minister.
Victorian Liberal MP Sharman Stone said the issue needed to be confronted.
โThe publicโs giving me loud and clear messages, they do want to see a change,โ she told the ABC.
โI want to make sure that what ever happens, whether Tony continues with โ as he says โโa renewed sense of what needs to be done, or weโve got a new leader, weโve got to make sure we donโt have Labor back in town as the Australian government in 18 months time.โโ
Amid speculation that, later on Friday, a significant person is going to demand publicly there be a spill when parliament resumes next week, Mr Abbott again rushed to commercial radio to hose things down.

Tony Abbottโs allies: dump Peta Credlin or Malcolm Turnbullโs PM
Prime Minister Tony Abbottโs supporters believe he must sacrifice his controversial chief of staff, Peta Credlin, or risk losing his leadership to Malcolm Turnbull, possibly as early as next week.
Amid fears that more breakaway MPs are planning to go public over the weekend to try to generate momentum for a spill, those wanting more time for Mr Abbott say he must dump Ms Credlin, the long-time head of his office.

The public still wants an end to the chaos
The fundamental truth surely is that Tony Abbott was elected not with any enthusiasm or capital; he was elected as the mechanism to put an end to the failed, disunited and chaotic Rudd-Gillard-Rudd governments.
That was his purpose, and once that was achieved the political malaise set in once again.
So now the party room has to make a simple judgment - is Abbott right or wrong when he says changing leaders will make a bad situation even worse? And if he's not the best leader, then who is?

Tony Abbott Bricks Himself Inside The Prime Ministerโs Office
Prime Minister Tony Abbottโs desperation to keep the top job amid leadership tensions has reached its zenith this morning with Coalition staffers arriving in Parliament to discover that Abbott had bricked himself inside his office overnight.
A note attached to the outer face of the brick wall announced that the Prime Minister had been stockpiling provisions for some time and would not be leaving until leadership dramas have all blown over.
โThis is for the good of all Australians,โ the note read. โThe Australian people voted me in and it should be the Australian people who get to vote me out. I mean, look at my polling numbers. They really, really want to vote me out.
โItโs becoming increasingly more apparent that I have no allies in this office therefore, for the good of the nation, I have constructed a wall that will stop anyone from entering this office. Especially you, Malcolm. And you Julie. And you Scott. And - okay, look, no one can come in.โ
According to Parliamentary security footage, Abbott began constructing the wall at approximately 1 a.m. with construction being completed hours before the first staffers arrived the next morning.
โI have always wanted to be known as an infrastructure Prime Minister,โ the note continued. โWhat better way to exemplify that than by being a Prime Minister only staying in office due to the strong, protective infrastructure Iโve built.
โSpill all you like. Three more years and Iโve got squatters rights, suckers.โ
Multiple staffers have reported seeing Chief of Staff Peta Credlin banging on the outside of the wall pleading for Abbott to let her in, demanding he not โleave [her] with these monsters.โ
Initial reports are suggesting that Liberal backbenchers are surprisingly impressed by this bold move as, provided no journalist manages to tunnel through the wall, this may be the longest the Coalition goes without a major gaffe.

It's not Credlin's fault abbott's a dud.
The Nats are saying if the Libs change leaders they want a new deal too. Not sure what that's supposed to achieve. Perhaps it's a sort of ultimatum against change.

You know you said that you were never able to get a job above the threshold, well, as you know because
you and others criticised this Gov't for it, they are spending millions on media watching.
Since you seem to do such a good job of finding all the articles on the LNP and Abbott,
Why don't you offer your services to them ?
I reckon you could get paid $100,000 for it and you wouldn't have to leave home to do it !
