As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Not eveyone has the need to huddle in little groups in order to express their thoughts and opininons.

it was a good idea the OP had to try to keep it in one thread, saves the whole board being flooded with political stuff. A lot of people don't like numerous threads on the same things, can't say that I blame them

Government unrest grew on Sunday following a damaging cabinet leak that Mr Abbott and his chief-of-staff Peta Credlin had pushed for a six-month wait for the dole for young Australians against the advice of relevant ministers Kevin Andrews and Eric Abetz.
hmmm I wonder what lies ahead this week

Whether that is his decision or that of his chief of staff, it is appalling.
And Mr Keating says Mr Abbotts voice is getting higher 😀
And I say that Bishop's voice is getting lower. ATM it is much lower that TA's

Meet the new Whip, Scott Buchholz
He's the regional Queenslander who doesn't mind getting up early and gives a nod to his health by drinking low carb beer.
Who calls people "rocket" and "champ" and wanted to be the Pope when he was younger.
He was also a former chief-of-staff to Barnaby Joyce.
Joyce, now the Minister for Agriculture, describes him as a "very genuine" person, who loves a big hug and has a "very, very direct" way of speaking.
"Sometimes disturbingly direct," he said.
...there are others within the Liberal party room for whom Buchholz' appointment last Friday was a puzzle, noting there are other candidates who are also deeply loyal to Tony Abbott but better qualified.
...But some Coalition MPs argue that Buchholz is not the right person for the job. They say the backbench will not adequately confide in him and he will be so loyal to the Prime Minister that he will not give Abbott the honest assessment of the party room that he needs.
