Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Or you could look at report and acknowledge that is the case.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

btw; here's your new poll figures someone was talking about before, not as good for abbott as some think

http://www.news.com.au/national/tony-abbott-accused-of-scare-tactics-as-poll-points-to-hope-of-bisho...

They have decided the Prime Minister is out of touch with the electorate and is not trustworthy, Newspoll, published in The Australian, found.

This is a tie with the Labor Opposition.

Laborโ€™s primary vote dropped from 41 per cent to 38 per cent and its domination of the two-party preferred vote, after allocation of preferences, fell from 57 per cent to 53 per cent.

Opposition Leader Bill Shortenโ€™s rating as preferred Prime Minister was eroded, falling from 48 per cent to 43 per cent over the fortnight while Mr Abbottโ€™s rose from 30 to 35 per cent.

However, the rating of Mr Abbottโ€™s performance remains dismal with 68 per cent still unhappy with how he is doing his job. Dissatisfaction with Mr Shorten left from 40 per cent to 49 per cent, Newspoll found.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

ah, here is my answer

https://newmatilda.com/2015/02/24/pressure-shifts-gillian-triggs-george-brandis-over-bid-force-resig...

George Brandis' Plan To Force Gillian Triggs' Resignation Just Blew Up In His Face

Triggs told the hearing that on February 3, Attorney-General Department Secretary Chris Moraitis met with her in Sydney.

According to Triggs, the Secretary came with a request from the Attorney-General that she resign โ€“ but there was a sweetener.

Triggs would be offered a senior government job pertaining to her expertise in international law.

โ€œIt was definitely said to me that an offer would me made to provide work for the government in the area of my expertise,โ€ she told the hearing.

Triggs, who was โ€œdeeply shockedโ€ by the proposition, said in her 46 years of legal experience, she had never previously been asked to resign from a position.

Expensive lawyer.

Deb

Funny how you focus on an anti Abbott part, I just posted the same article and said that this is why we need to

whack these nut jobs very hard and very fast.

Not one comment from you about what he was going to do.

If it is not that important to you or you don't believe it is important, care to volunteer yourself as the first "victim" ?

Might focus your mind on what is important instead of the fluff.
