As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Look it up yourself, it's not brain surgery.
You seem perfectly capabale of finding things to hang on the Gov't so you obviously know
how to find other people's hard work to post up to get a chortle so try using Google to find
the reference.
OK, from now on, when we post quotes/articles on this thread, you want us to leave out the date, link, source?
Please take note debra, glee, polks no links required now.
Please take note mm - vic said we don't need to provide links anymore to any quotes/articles we post.
Very odd, not normal practice at all on a forum.

nah... if we did that, anyone could make up anything and claim it be 'fact'
i'd rather continue on as we have been ( well;. most of us anyway)

Why waste time looking up a 1968 law (which wasn't even mentioned at first), when it was AMENDED in 2006? Answer that!

Talking about bakeries, I heard that the some bread in our supermarkets is pre-baked in Ireland. W T F?
haha those capital letters are bleeped now.

D9275 "umm. 1968.. I'm pretty sure the copyright act has been updated since then
so I'm not even going to look
why won't you just post a relevent link?"
I certainly am astounded at the reply. which shows a complete lack of understanding of "Acts"
D9275 what would you say to the relevance of this "Act" INCOME TAX ASSESSMENT ACT 1936 ?
INCOME TAX ASSESSMENT ACT 1936You might be interested in Sect 23H: Foreign branch income of Australian companies not assessable, because the Senate is at the moment.
Now if you accept (?????) that the above 1936 "Act" continues until the present, and as amended is relevant , allow me to point out that the same applies to :
COPYRIGHT ACT 1968
"umm. 1968.. I'm pretty sure the copyright act has been updated since then
so I'm not even going to look"
Amazing!

I wonder if Alan Kohler has written any incorrect articles lately, I haven't read any of his column's for awhile. Can't imagine him being wrong about anything though, I find he's usually pretty spot on

MM12 I suggest you look at a more current updated version of the copyright laws as they are considerably different since we have computers and internet, which were not available to us in 1968
