As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Which is probably the purpose of the deflections and trivial trollicking.

Here? looking looking looking. Still looking.
However apropos federal politics and the era of the 2 ringmasters, whoops, sorry, the 2 ringpersons, the Circus deftly achieved a parody of bicameral government under the ALP logo.
Got any comments on the current Govt? Time to move on politically from pre-Sept 2013.
First graph of day noted - 10-10.30 am. Anticpating the timing of the next one now.

Budget surplus to narrow to $1.5b
Treasurer Wayne Swan said Australia is sending a strong message to the rest of the world by bringing the budget back to surplus.
OR this source the ABC, it would be a favourite here:
Broadcast: 14/05/2013
LEIGH SALES: Good evening. Wayne Swan last year you promised with certainty a $1.5 billion surplus, tonight you've delivered an $18 billion deficit. How can you look Australians in the eye?
Of course he could not look Australians in the eye, he was to busy trying to grow a money tree in his surplus garden. I guess the income drought got him year after year after year!

hehe.. did you miss the quote I posted yesterday from The Guardian?

sadly some people don't seem to know the difference between a mining boom and a GFC. It is all relative to treasury you know
we somehow got through the GFC without too much drama. it must've been good fiscal policy on our relevent treasurers part, hey it must've been because he was awarded best treasurer in the world at that time and Australia was the envy of all other nations

Hardly that, when it proves to be true, as shown by such jurists as Burnside making stupid comments ("state committing piracy") and it would then appear that "any other government" and followers believe his incorrect cries (in their ignorance), "succumb"
here's a recent one, but I'll do more research later
