Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

"hmmm no LNP treasurers on this award list

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euromoney_Finance_Minister_of_the_Year"

Not the forbidden history period and "Treasurer of the Year" D9275 ?

As I have indicated before, Swan had full coffers from Howard,  a resources boom, nil competition for the title from OS and still he never managed his so often promised surplus garden.

Repeat:

Courier Mail  May 2012

Treasurer Wayne Swan to pledge to deliver $1.5 billion Budget surplus this year (actually promised for 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013)

Swan dumps his surplus pledge

History,  the bitter aftertaste of a perceived cure (surplus).

Historical Data Chart

The Circus came to town in 2007, and Swan planted the surplus seed in 2010. It turned out to be barren soil in his surplus garden, year after year after year.

Treasurer Joe Hockey and Assistant Treasurer Josh Frydenberg have hit back at Peter Costello after the former treasurer criticised the Liberal government for failing to live up to its promise of delivering a "fairer, simpler tax system".

The government ministers said they could only dream of having the revenue he had at his disposal during the Howard government.

Mr Costello, whose mining boom expenditure plunged the budget into structural deficit with tens of billion of dollars committed to tax cuts and middle-class welfare measures which can no longer be funded, has rounded on the Abbott government for its penchant for increasing taxes.

In his regular column for the News Ltd tabloids, Mr Costello describes the Abbott government's pledge of "lower, simpler, fairer" taxes as some kind of "morbid joke".

He mentions plans to introduce a bank deposit tax and a Google tax in the May budget as well as the emerging consensus to end generous superannuation tax concessions and the inability to tackle bracket creep with income tax cuts

Oh goody the real world, economics, as seen through a red tinted lens, and with suitable excerpts.

Why Hockey will have to clean up Costello's superannuation mess in May budget

Call it karma. It has fallen to Joe Hockey to undo two of the stupidest and potentially most expensive decisions ever made by an Australian government.

So great was the cost, the Abbott government reportedly considered axing the pension extension in its first budget.

Why I wonder  did the Circus not  attempt to kick the "mess" out of the ring when they had the power to do so, and the time (6 years)?

It reminds me of a geriatric dennis the menace in the twilight zone.  It's hard to believe that any adult male would spend his day taunting a select few women on the internet with such gusto.    What a sad sorry life to live.
