As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

I don't have to worry about what goes into my mouth and I don't have to worry about what comes out of it.
I beg to differ.
what he actually said was:
"It doesn't worry me that it's halal. It doesn't worry me if the Seventh Day Adventists did it. It doesn't worry me if the Buddhists, ah, br- brought forward some new curry.
It doesn't worry me if I go to an Indian restaurant and the chef is, the chef is Hindu.
It doesn't worry me because, even on the premise of my religion, I don't have to worry about what goes into the mouth: I only have to worry about what comes out."
(which is based on a bible verse)
I think that's about the third time you have corrected me Julia
It must really mean a lot to you. OK, OK. I apologise. Better?

The only "trawling" I can see going on is the digging up of posts from more than a year ago, all to try to prove a point, win an argument or whatever. I thought this thread was a place to air one's views on the government, not to constantly criticize the posting style of others.

Monman, you can turn kudos off in your preferences if you like. Let me know if you need instructions.

If abbott goes I'd like to ask monman12 to trawl back over the past 100 years as I'm curious to know if it is unprecedented for a first term PM to be booted out in a first term govt

The Libs have been banging on endlessly about the Rudd / Gillard / Rudd years - the "knifing" of an Australian PM etc. It's a delicious irony that they look like dumping their own leader, who won't even have lasted as long as KayRudd.
The best part of all is that many who have supported Abbott as PM despise Turnbull - how will they cope?

I reckon they'll have trouble getting rid of abbott- he's not the type of guy that listens to anyone else. I wonder what prompted this today- could they be seeing Canning as a possible loss?
if abbott is out by Friday, he misses out on his 10 million pension
on twitter, jeff Kennett is sounding out turnbull

The good part of it though Donna is that if Malcolm Turnbull is prime minister then we have the chance of a good government, which is something I don't believe is possible with Abbott.

It is interesting Donna. I really liked turnbull's speech ( even through the current NBN is a scam)

According to ABC radio, Jeff Kennett has spat the dummy on Twitter. Here's a bit of it:
Malcolm Turnbull, You self centered, selfish individual. It has always been about you
