As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Here is an OS article from the New York Times covering very recent politics in the UK and the election of Jeremy Corbyn to become leader of the Opposition Labour Party.

OK, perhaps only
as I have added a few comments of my own which is not exactly de rigueur.
"He has previously called for Britain to leave NATO, favors unilateral nuclear disarmament and champions the nationalization of vast sectors of the economy, including the railways and the energy industries. He has also said that he will apologize on behalf of Labour for the Iraq invasion and that Blair could face war-crimes charges."

"monman12 - you will have to change that little " back knifing" image you keep posting,,,,, different players now "
Very true (different players) but unlike Poor Me and her sudden overnight of the long knives, orchestrated by the "nameless" factional war lords, this has been on the cards for some time.
I think though that you have missed the point of my image in that Poor Lady Macbeth having attempted to "kill" "Duncan" Rudd botched the process by her subsequent lack-lustre performance and received like treatment .
I do not think there is the slightest chance of Abbott returning or leaking (if he is replaced) unlike the musical chairs (roundabout) of the Circus leaders as depicted by:

With Malcolm involved we can expect a cheaper, faster spill than Labor's:

Did you notice that Julie bishop brought all this about today.... I did say a very long time ago that she and turnbull were very close friends but somebody tried to misconstrue what I said .. I''m still wondering who the leak in the abbott govt. was? I don't think it was turnbull.

"one link to one article from Jakarta post does not constitute trawling OS newspapers"
"oh look here's another one from Jakarta Post for you to add to your list "
Now that would make only TWO now ????

And no I disagree that's a very myopic view you take. though you say it's been on the cards for a very long time... Turnbull never challenged abbott last time and he didn't have the numbers then. however, there has been a stream of continuous leaks from LNP ,cabinet meetings all year. , there were even leaks about the leaks. So a bigger circus imo

Yes Deb, although she's barely getting a mention in the media so far.
Makes me wonder whether, when she said "b*tch" in parliament last week, she was talking about Tony.
