As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

NOT THE DT !
Snow business as Prime Minister Tony hits the slopes with Peta Credlin and daughter Frances
"where is your information about his ski trip with peta Credlin being privately funded??"
that statement I mean... where is it from??
When your Google is repaired, go to the search page and type into the search box the following :-
Mr Abbottโs trip was privately funded (mentioned earlier)
A working Google will present you with a list of search results headed by THIS and if you read to the bottom of the article you will find :-
"Mr Abbottโs trip was privately funded"

I'll wait till I eventually see proof from FOI rather than take his or his office's word or the DT's word ( heaven forbid )

"I'll wait till I eventually see proof from FOI rather than take his or his office's word or the DT's word ( heaven forbid"
But you are happy to quote the DT (NOT THE DT) with a URL when it suits your "outlook", and Google is working !
Right, a FOI request, ( Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) ) , when Google is fixed perhaps?

"however, if I do post something from the DT , it does not neccessarily mean that I believe it"
That I do understand, because I often feel the same with posts I read here, and not just DT ones !
However, I do still chuckle at this "defence" : All I did was post an article from Jakarta post that had been printed, I did not personally write the article"
It is only prudent never to place complete confidence in that by which we have even once been deceived.

I chuckle at all the defence of all things to do with the current govt. to be honest , no matter how crook they show themselves to be. ๐๐

"Opposition leader says โI donโt understand what happened to the Malcolm Turnbull of 2009โ and says country missing out on renewables opportunities
The right wing of the Coalition is forcing Australians to โpledge loyaltyโ to coal and in the process missing out on investment opportunities in renewable energy, the opposition leader, Bill Shorten said.
Shorten addressed reporters on Tuesday, explaining the constraints that the prime minister, Malcolm Turnbull, was facing from the right of his own party.
โI think the right of Australian politics is taking the debate about our energy future down fairly sort of draconian paths where weโre demanding weโve got to pledge loyalty to one form of energy hand over heart,โ he said."
I suppose I'd better make a comment in my own words lest mm12 jump on me.
Malcolm Turnbull is a politician; one of that group of people who will unashamedly say whatever it takes to garner a few more votes of support.
Right now he looks good. When I say "good" that is only in comparison to who came before him. Mr Turnbull is a member of a party who represents the interests of business first and the interests of the majority of the Australian people second.
He's a good talker but his actions while in government will display his real character.

I laugh at the blindness of some who seem to have succumbed to mass amnesia about Rudd/Gillard?Rudd and the assassin Shorten who took them down. But he did us all a favour because he exposed the complete failure of them to run a government.
and...he exposed himself as a hollow man only useful as a back room machine man. He will never attain PM status.
