Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-04-20/disability-pensioners-may-be-reassessed-kevin-andrews/5400598

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Do you support the publishing of leaked personal emails?

From memory you didn't support the publishing of the ones published in the recent past (Whitehouse Institute,  Spurr)

Nova Peris today:

She is concerned about how News Corp obtained the emails.

"I categorically reject any wrong doing," Senator Peris says.

"It pains me to have to talk about my private life."

She says it is part of a long running child access and financial dispute.

"I have always put my children first and will continue to do so."

Senator Peris says the "aggrieved party" in the dispute contacted her earlier this month saying they were in possession of emails and threatened her that their release would cause "major trauma".

The party had tried to obtain money from her in return for the emails, Senator Peris says.

When that failed, Senator Peris says, the party turned to News Corp which was made aware of the circumstances behind the emails.

Gosh here I am about to quote from BIG's favourite red rag: "Independent  Australia"!. Taken from an article on 20 May 2012

"Craig Thomson has been cruelly pre-judged by the Australian mass media."

well there has been an update on Craig and jackson - Craig first. It must be bewildering for those that rely on newscorpse for their informationWoman LOL

http://www.independentaustralia.net/life/life-display/jacksonville-psychology-tightens,7041

The tightening Jacksonville psychology

With Craig Thomson's appeal due to be heard next month, the FWC Commission drops most of its case against him and Kathy Jackson's cronies duck for cover.Peter Wicks reports.

The HSU saga continues — and not all of it is happening in the Trade Union Royal Commission.

Let’s start off with Craig Thomson.

Thomson’s appeal against the guilty verdict relating to allegations of improper spending of approximately $25,000 spending of union funds is due in court next month.

Meanwhile, that fearless truth seeking broadsheet The Australian has put its own unique spin on the Fair Work Commission decision to drop a massive chunk of its case against Thomson, declaring in a headline:

‘Fair Work tightens compensation case against Craig Thomson’

Tightens?

Tightens is obviously what our cheerful News Ltd propagandists call it when a case against one of their targets weakens to the point vast amounts of it needs to be dropped.

It makes you wonder what sort of negative spin Murdoch’s mob are currently concocting in the event the case against Thomson is dropped.

Thomson’s solicitor Chris McCardle disagreed with The Australian’s assessment, saying it was less a “tightening” than it was a case of the FWC having:

“… no bleeping evidence.”

Kathy Jackson's five star mental health crisis

As Craig Thomson’s appeal receives a mention in Melbourne Magistrates Court,Peter Wicks from Wixxyleaks visits Kathy Jackson's new home.

YESTERDAY, Craig Thomson’s appeal had a Court Mention in Melbourne Magistrates Court.

The mention basically set the procedures and ground rules for the appeal.

Although there is nothing new or exciting to report on the matter, we now know that there will be no witnesses appearing during the appeal and that Thomson’s appeal will be relying on evidence that has already been presented to the court.

The next court mention on the matter is 18 November.

Thomson’s confidence may have been lifted is the woman at the centre of the HSU saga and the person who made so many of the accusations against Thomson has seen her credibility completely demolished and is now trying to avoid facing her own legal fight against claims that utterly dwarf Thomson’s.

I speak, of course, of Kathy Jackson, whose Federal Court fight with the HSU over approximately $1.4 million is due to be heard next on the 5 November. Next week’s hearing will be to look at Jackson’s mental health condition given her doctor’s statement was something the Court found to be rather vague.

Since then, Wixxyleaks has learnt where Jackson is an inpatient, which may have relevance to the matter before the court considering the admissions process.

Kathy Jackson is currently a patient at South Coast Private, which as the name suggests is on the NSW South Coast.

South Coast Private is a psychiatric hospital that describes itself as five star and has a maximum of 90 patients, who all stay in resort style accommodation. You won’t hear of electroshock therapy, patients strapped to beds, padded cells or straight-jackets here. Some have described it as a luxury hotel with doctors.

I contacted the South Coast Private to see what is required for a patient to be admitted.

P007: ""Unemployment is chronic in Australia – its hidden.

We have the worst unemployment in all of Asia and have overtaken the US."

WRONG (again) :Oct 2014 "Australia's unemployment rate set to be second worst in Asia-Pacific, says IMF"

"About 1 million temporary/457 visa/485s from countries that have ruined their own economies with a housing crash "

WRONG (again)      : 457 Visa Grants May 2014 show that the total number of 457 visa holders is at an all time high of 111,780. Whilst 485 visa applications are in a sharp decline with a current total of less than 25,000.

P007: "one recent example: Thousands of local nursing graduates are desperately unemployed despite large numbers of international nurses being recruited under the 457 Visa Programme."

Would that be as accurate as your About 1 million temporary/457 visa/485s exaggerated by almost 1 order of magnitude?

MICHAEL ROFF, CEO, AUSTRALIAN PRIVATE HOSPITALS ASSN: From the private hospital perspective, 457 visas are principally used to fill vacancies that require experienced nurses with an advanced level of skills, so particularly in areas like intensive care, coronary care, maternity and operating theatres.

Do people ever bother to research or obtain facts (sorry). I again point out that inaccurate posts become a mark of one's biased  political  acumen, and lack of reliable substance.

I would suggest that the Coalition's proposed sale of Medibank easily fits into the  "diary of the government", far more so than unresearched rubbish,  quotations from Tehran based media  outlets, and rants from "citizen journalists.
