As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

"as usual morman12 you have posted yet another pointless post....yawn." Really? after this post of yours BIG:
"Coal companies lock up large regions of NSW"
This was an acceptable / relevant response:
"Mining accounted for just 0.1 per cent of NSW's land compared with 76 per cent for agriculture, a spokesman for the NSW Minerals Council said."
However I do understand the aversion to facts (sorry) and research (sorry), as for pointless posts: I was just following your lead

Government at war: Treasurer Joe Hockey told Tony Abbott his ditched plan to cut Medicare rebate by $20 was 'crazy' during heated meeting with senior ministers
Prime Minister Tony Abbott was told he was 'crazy' by Treasurer Joe Hockey and the former Health Minister Peter Dutton for imposing a $20 cut to GP rebates despite initially defending the move.
The conflict between Mr Abbott and his two political allies was leaked by senior ministers involved in the expenditure review committee who revealed that Mr Hockey and Mr Dutton were against the move and butted heads with the Prime Minister over it.
The Sunday Telegraph reported that Mr Hockey and Mr Dutton had a heated debate with Mr Abbott over the move and warned the Prime Minister that any changes to GP consults in the lead up to the Queensland and NSW state election was ‘crazy’.

...Mr Newman said he didn't need the Prime Minister or others to "prop us up", while out on the campaign trail.
....Mr Newman also announced plans to provide $1 billion for 22 new schools and a teaching scholarships program for talented students. ...more false, gilded promises
WOW! $1,000,000,000 (1 billion dollars) just 'pops' out of Newman's back pocket!!

I wondered why Labor had been so quiet.
This from an article where Labor were jumping all over Newman for broken promises.
"But Labor, still smarting over its own 2012 election massacre from a public that remembered a broken promise,
are committing to nothing".
I also read a godd post from someone re Abbott point expansion, because it helps jobs, Labor can't be too anti it
and don't want to be seen as too Green because that didn't help Federal Labor.
