Mollie Meldrum was over the top?

While poor old gold logies winner Samuel Johnson (who I'd never heard of but that means nowt)

was trying to get his thoughts together to thank everyone  Mollie steps up and edges him out

and rambles on for 5 whole minutes, most of which  could not be understood.

In fairness he has brain  damage from an accident but word has it that he had imbibed a lot of booze too, not a good mix with medications..

I like Mollie,  he's everyone's pet really, .  but there's a limit.

Bad show.

I would much prefer- and so would Sam - think about the fund raising he's done

the money he's raised for cancer research is to be congratulated.

I think they are only given a minute for their speach and maybe

foremost in his mind was to push the fundraising part of his life rather then

the acting. He actually requested people shun him for the gold logie and instead

donate to his charity which he is close to raising $10 million for Breast Cancer.

He has retired from acting so he can continue his fund raising.

His Sister has fought breast cancer for 7 years and is now terminal.

you may not be a fan of ian (molly) but the guys has most likely done more for music artists in this country than any other single person. he may come across as a fool but its a front, the guy is a genius in his field.

since his accident he may not be fireing on all 8 cylinders so give him a break.

as for the tv film of his life, i had no intrest in it, i lived his life live.

seeing him making a twit of himself in order to promote aussie music...classic.

Where have I not given Mollie a break?   All I said was that I am not a fan and found the whole mini series a waste of time.

I made no comment about Mollie's personal circumstances or his behaviour on stage.  It is you who has drawn attention to his odd behaviour.

My beef was with the rudeness of an actor who portrayed Mollie in said mini series....nothing more.

That is a very interesting article Stawks but it raises the question....how is the general public expected to know the difference between a drunk and someone with a brain injury if they do not know the person's history?

In the case of Mollie most people know his history but not everyone with brain injury enjoys his public profile.  Should they go around with a label saying "I have a brain injury"?

Anyway, this thread was never about Mollie personally.   It was about someone who portrayed Mollie in a TV series.
