I thought I would try a Did You Know thread similar to one a few years ago. Maybe people can share some interesting facts, or trivia.
For example...
Did you know that there are more bacteria cells in the human body than human cells?
"A 'reference man' (one who is 70 kilograms, 20–30 years old and 1.7 metres tall) contains on average about 30 trillion human cells and 39 trillion bacteria, say Ron Milo and Ron Sender at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, and Shai Fuchs at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada."
"So to our 30 trillion human cells, we have on average about 39 trillion microbial cells. So by that measure, we’re only about 43% human,” said Rob Knight, director of the University of California San Diego Center for Microbiome Innovation and professor of pediatrics and computer science and engineering."
It certainly does make one wonder what it really is to be human!

All stone fruit as well as pears, hops (beer making) and marijuana are in the rose family.
Grandson has an apple allergy that you never grow out of, so we all had to know this info.
Good ol' grandma put him in hospital when he was a baby by feeding him grated apple. Doctors said he was allergic to apples, so what do I do?
Feed the poor kid pears....a doh moment for sure. Hospital trip again.
Poor kid looked like a domestic abuse victim. Swollen face, black eyes.
His fruits consist of grapes, melons and cucumbers now - he's 15

That sounds scary... 😞 But grapes, melons and cucumbers are good too. Grapes in particular are delicious, even as a snack.
I love fruit and vegetables, but if I eat anything before going to bed it makes me sick (I really mean anything, not only fruit and vegetables).

It was and still is scary, Paper.
Even now, if someone handles an apple and touches his bare skin, he breaks out.
He spent kinder sitting on his own mat at mealtimes, away from the other kids.
A lot of people haven't heard of an apple allergy. If you change the allergen in the apple (cook it) then he can eat it.
So it fits the theme of Did You Know

If you have an allergy, you really have to pay attention with a lot of things, even a snack if it contains pieces of fruit?

Fresh fruit, yes, but if it has been through a manufacturing process then it's ok to eat.
As said, cooking changes the allergen.
He'll have to watch and not have cold pressed beer when he's older hahaha

That's definitely the worst part of it! But luckily wine will be fine. 🙂

Did you know that cows produce more milk when listening to classical music?

Did you know that the Baltic/Slavic idea that a vampire’s hair and nails continue to grow in the grave were based on slippage and shrinkage of the corpse’s flesh? This makes it appear that the hair and the nails are longer.

Most of us have heard the 1st words uttered on the moon, but did you know the last ones?
“America’s challenge of today has forged man’s destiny of tomorrow.” – Commander Eugene Cernan, Apollo 17 Mission, December 11, 1972.
Not all that catchy, are they?
I would have preferred "we came, we saw, we conquered." LOL

* From when it was discovered to when it was declassified as a planet, Pluto did not make a full orbit around the sun.
(I read recently that there is a move to reclassify it as a planet)
* There are more hydrogen atoms in a teaspoon of water than there are teaspoons of water in the sea
* All of the planets could fit between the earth and the moon
* There are more trees on Earth than stars in the Milky Way.
