Did you see that poor lass taken by a tiger?

See a girl was taken by a tiger in a Chinese Open Zoo. Horrifying for the other people to watch.

No. Because anybody with an understanding of the history of English/Aussie relations would recognise it as friendly banter.  Most Australian/Muslim interactions haven't reached that stage yet.

And in any case, since the park closed in 1988, any indignation I might have feltl  would have  well and truly dissipated by now.

Apparently the main reason it closed was the high cost of animal feed - so obviously the Poms weren't showing up in droves on their pushbikes.Smiley LOL

So, expressions of casual racism towards the English are ok, are they, because it's traditional and they don't really mind anyway?

Well, 1) it's not racism, and 2) yeah.

You should hear what I cop on an almost daily basis because I'm from NZ. But that's okay because I understand it's coming from an entirely different basis.

Well, 1. Yes it most definitely is racism and 2. No, I know that the expression causes offence and it's just not acceptable to shrug it off as some sort of matey joking.
