Didn’t Labor promise no one would lose their job because of the carbon tax?

Now that the SA and Tasmanian elections are over, there are now 138 less Labor members of Federal, State and Territory parliaments than in 2010.

Excellent news 🙂

When I first looked at CS this morning, just for a few seconds I thought that Labor were back in Government and the last 6 months or so had been a terrible nightmare - then I realised it was just another thread about the previous government. Yawn. In fairness I suppose there is nothing positive to say on the current bunch so best to bang on about the past government.

it's not the carbon tax causing loss of jobs, it's the govt/s own decisions

looks like we can say goodbye to more jobs here

In Spain the unemployment rate is about 26%. They must be paying about $125 per tonne for carbon emissions.

Re: Didn’t Labor promise no one would lose their job because of the carbon tax?

Senator Eric Abetz has slammed media allegations that the government sought to massage employment figures, saying a report in The Australian contains numerous errors.

"At no stage did staff in my office request that figures be 'scaled up'," he said.

"At no stage did staff in my office suggest that the department’s figures be “dumped” and replaced with alternative figures.

"At no stage did any staff in my office suggest that figures be 'massaged'."

The Australian reported that ministerial advisers encouraged federal officials to “massage” their economic forecasts to match Tony Abbott’s vow to create one million jobs over the next five years amid concern the original estimates would fall short of his target.

The Department of Employment, with the agreement of the government, will publish its annual employment projection figures this week, as had been planned.

"The leaked email quoted in the story clearly only requested input into the wording around the media release and in no way sought to alter the figures to be published," Mr Abetz said.

"I have full faith and confidence in the staff involved."

Mr Abetz said the story was based solely on selectively leaked information and that the newspaper did not seek to verify the accuracy of the information leaked to him.

funny, but i don't believe him Smiley Happy  trying to hide his failings with dodgy figures.

Every day in every way the last Labor government stuffed up.

It wasn't hard to find countless articles to post on here, on  just how dysfunctional and inept they were, the corruption writ large,  every day it was on the news, in the papers and on TV, every day we witnessed a government tearing itself to pieces in full public view to the detriment of governing and the people.

Now they have gone, the disappointed are resorting to the Age and Fairfax rags, hate blogs and overseas tid bits spouted by radical leftists to try to glean a story of dissent, to winkle out, however minuscule, an article that tells them what they want to hear.

Every day we are witness to Abbott bashing threads, inane comment on the PM and name calling, offensive pictures which then descends  into farce.

The biggest lie of all "there will be no carbon tax under a government I lead", the lies about employment which blind Freddie could see disintegrating day after day, companies closing down, hundreds out of work and the rivers of gold squandered like a drunk on a 6 year binge.

So if the spectre of the last government is raised, a cautionary tactic, to what will happen under a Labor govt if they ever get back in in the next decade, then it will be raised, time after time and so it should be.

I haven't forgotten, millions haven't forgotten, and the voters will be reminded of it at every election for decades so they never forget.

none of that will save these rodents.  including the worn out slogans.

you see as the current govt is proving, endless propaganda from the usual sources will not save them . 100 million dollar smear campaigns disguised as royal commissions will not be enough. only good policy will help in the long run and we've seen nothing of the sort so far .. these guys have disenfranchised so many as to be unsalvageable and they will be kicked out.. they are goners.Smiley Happy

You should write for bolt.  I love the wording, the intensity, the conviction, the  aggrandisement ... it is almost like you believe what you write.  Keep up the great work !
