Simone, is that the Singaporean triple tower building? I saw a TV show recently which showed the construction of the site. Three teams built the towers "in a race". Apparently, the bridging across the top was an engineering feat.

I will indeed vote.
I just posted my photo, I downsized it to 1000 pixels across, resoution 72 and saved it compressed at level 5 (12 being the highest level). It uploaded real fast.

I did not take the next photo. I have photos somewhere of this building, but since i can't find my photos, I really wanted to share the inside of this building. It is the Bradbury building. It was used in the film Blade runner.

It's a fire escape
when you stand on the ladder it rides to the ground.
It's to stop people at ground level accessing the apartments and/or rooftop
You don't watch enough movies : - )

Oops!
Sorry Amber and Stawka. I wasn't on line much this afternoon. That is initially what I thought it was but I couldn't understand the science. Now I can see how the ladder behind could be lowered.
Strange though because it is a one story building and there is no upstairs so for people in trouble they could try to bash their way through the windows.
Hmmm. Can you see the size of the windows? I think the post office used to be in there and a library.
