A voluntary recall of washing machines blamed for more than 200 fires across the country is being made mandatory in New South Wales.
In 2013, Samsung issued a recall on six types of top-loaders sold between 2010 and 2013.
Of the 144,000 machines sold across Australia, 55,000 were sold in NSW.

It was on the radio and news again here yesterday Kopes. I love my Samsung toploader so I was a disappointed when I first heard about this.
Since the recall has been going on for a while, what happens if people have a serious problem? Do you think their insurance will cover it when they should have had their machines looked at by now? I think they will be telling them to take it up with Samsung.
Still love mine. I was worried I would regret switching from a front loader but I'm glad I made the decision.
