Do the LNP supporters fear a return of Rudd?

It would be an interesting campaign. If it means a win for Labor then I don't mind at all. ๐Ÿ˜„ But I would rather see Julia stay.

I'm sure Tony would be shaking in his boots if Rudd returns lol

I will always  accept a respected/scientific polling organisation such as Galaxy, but  as you have written: "I don't understand how they get these figures."  this source will help you:

Or perhaps you should read  some more confirming mundane sources like these:

The reliability of such responses is questionable. They fail to take into account those who would drop Labor if they were to change leaders at this stage. They also fail to take into account the honeymoon period factor, especially as they also report much of those in favour of a return to Rudd stated their support for the LNP over Labor.  Talking about the Rudd/Gillard question not polling overall.

If they were certain...no party would need to  campaign would they ?

Do the polls call mobile phones or only land lines ?

If only land lines how many and what types, ages etc of people have them these days ?

CP, a poll  response to a specific question is just that,  and at the time is not open to question. A suitable sample size will then provide a representative population answer to that specific question, and If you have qualifications you then ask more separate questions.

CP, You write "They fail to take into account those who would drop Labor if they were to change leaders at this stage."

I take it you have not read the reference I provided wherein a couple of the questions were:

"Two party preferred with Kevin Rudd as leader"

"Primary vote with Kevin Rudd as leader"

Why ask here?  there is plenty of information available apropos the science and methodology of conducting public opinion polls.

"If they were certain...no party would need to  campaign would they ?"

You fail to grasp that a poll is nothing more than  a "snapshot" of opinions  on the day it was conducted. Everything can change in a week, month, or  by the time the election occurs. In fact if the election had been held the day of/after the opinion poll, the results would be quite similar.

A federal election is nothing more than a opinion poll with the sample being the whole voting nation.
