Do you eat meat on good friday? if so why and if not why not? is it a relig

Religious thing?

Religion being what it is today I would not think anyone would bother fasting, could be wrong?

See I took the story as a metaphor for death and new life. And a lot of Christian believe that it was the spirit of Jesus that rose to heaven like grandma and grandpa.
I don't get why come people need to believe that Jesus Bodily rose from the dead.

By the way, not believing in the resurrection of Jesus doesn't make your daughter an Atheist.

Nah it was the black screen and the finality of death that does that Bob  😉

You can tell your daughter that there's some nutty old fella on Ebay who has just made her his honorary grandie

Love her to bits and I never even met her

:^O  Moorna I was a bit sad for her, but then thought how she is the happiest of my kids, and really lives her life to the fullest, making the most of every moment.  So its obviously not playing on her mind or making her dark and depressing.

She sounds well balanced with her feet firmly planted on terra firma to me.

Just the sort of youngster I enjoy spending time with.

If she stays that way she should do well in life.

is that all you have to say, after I spent hours trying to answer the following questions of yours for you?

Moorna12 also wrote: "Can you also tell me exactly what time he died? Or at least was the time of death before or after dark as one bible passage tells that it was after dark"

12:00 noon

Moorna12 also wrote:" The only reason I am interested about the time of death, or near enough, was because of what Luke said about it being dark at the time.

No, Luke didn't say it was dark at the time, he said that it went dark when Jesus died at about 12:00 noon and stayed that way for 3 hours.

Jewish Day runs from sunset to sunset - so before the sun set today it was Nisan 18, 5773, but since the sun has now set (well in Australia anyway) it is now Nisan 19, 5773 and will be until sunset tomorrow.

I suppose I did learn something out of the exercise - cocka-doodle-doo

So wadda want, a medal or a chest to pin the bugger on? 😉

I'm not so sure that you're not telling me little porkies about the time of death though mate.

One of the bible passages makes note of the fact that the hour of the day was late so the centurians were ordered to break the legs of the three stuck up on their crosses because it was close to the hour of the Sabbath beginning (That'd be sunset) and under Hebrew law they were not allowed to leave the bodies hanging about (No pun intended) over the Sabbath, but when the centruians had first broken the legs of the other two criminals and went to do the dirty on Jesus they found he was just about had it so they didn't break his.

I can't remember which book and passage that is in, and all this bible research stuff is doing my head in so I can't be bothered trying to look it up for ya mate.

Now, if you're as good at research as ya want me to credit ya for you can go look it up for yourself then come back with a revised result.

I might then award ya with a pat on the back, but only might, I ain't making promises I might not wanna keep :^O

I don't want ya getting a too swollen head over this ]:)

I'll take the chest to pin it on  thanks.

I looked it up, and I was wrong about the time.

Impaled at 9:00am ; Darkness fell at 12:00 noon until 3:00 and Jesus died at 3:00

I know you don't really want the references, but I'll quote them anyway for someone who may like to know.

Matthew 27:45-46; Mark 15:32-33; Luke 23:44-46
