Religious thing?
Religion being what it is today I would not think anyone would bother fasting, could be wrong?

Fish for breakfast, chicken sandwiches for lunch, and beef casserole for dinner, just because it's good Friday .... ]:)

Since I was a child I have always wondered what the difference was by eating fish or meat? Both are living creatures that have to be killed to eat.
I am not religious, but I prefer fish to meat. Wish good fish was not so expensive. Even a piece of flake costs the same as a steak.:_|
Have a happy Easter all regardless of what you eat.
Erica 🙂

This is one theory why Friday was fish for dinner.
During the Middle Ages, the fish mongers were having trouble around Rome selling their wares. They appealed to the Pope for help, and he declared that every Friday would be meatless. With this ban against meat, the population turned to fish and other sea food (including shrimp, scallops, clams, etc.); which helped out the fish mongers and fishermen.

As an ex-catholic, I make a point of eating meat on Friday cause the whole thing is so silly.
No-one has ever been able to explain the point of not eating meat. If someone can enlighten me I would be much obliged.
Do you think fasting for religious reasons is silly in general or just the Catholic practice of fasting on Good Fridays? (I think Orthodox Christians do that as well during their Lent)
