What a palava (sp) about semantics.
As bella said, some would have been offended no matter what..because it isn't really about the words used but about the pain felt.
but....there will always be people who jump on the coat tails of the offended, people who think it's their right to stand up for others. People who usually are bored, helpless with their own life, people who need to be noticed as doing "good", people who think they have the right to meddle in others lives...because in their opinion, they know best.
What do I think. It doesn't affect me, so as far as I'm concedrned the term isn't offensive. What others feel is up to them but as I said, I think they will feel hurt no matter what they are called.

I knew of 17 year olds having babies out of wedlock in the early '70's.....none were forced to give up their child. Yes some will find just about anything offensive ......
