Does Anyone know what this is??

My cousin's mother-in-law passed away recently and this "instrument" was hers but no-one in the family knows what it is.  It is shaped like a pen, solid and has no moving parts.

She was a religious lady, other than that there are no clues.  Would love to know what it is used for.

Re: Does Anyone know what this is??

No, not hollow - solid and no moving parts at all.

Just phoned but they are not at home - he will check if it's magnetic when he gets home and let me know.

I'm sticking with some kind of pen/nib.  Why would it have a pocket clip otherwise?

Is that a clip on it? Some sort of weight to hold a piece of paper perhaps?

It looks like a tyre pressure gauge that the old school mechanics used to have in their top pocket.

Re: Does Anyone know what this is??

What we see as the "nib area" is the part put on the valve.

The other end pushes out to indicate the pressure when it is applied.

Like everyone else I'm guessing.
