Does a country have the right to protect it's borders?

To what lengths should a country go to to protect its inhabitants and borders?

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

$900m of our money given to Murdoch media in cash because they ran at a loss (no gain to Australians) and our PM says he knows nothing.....

are you kidding ?

that is so funny.

i have already addressed all this...........was all under labor.........but blame the current government.

it wasn't given, it wasn't collected as tax.....there is a difference.

the murdoch companies made a claim on their tax return the ATO knocked it back. they then appealled to the courts and won.

the courts made their deceision on the laws in place in Australia

how is that the work of the current government?

is it right or wrong?

our tax laws definetly need lookimg at, especially where it concerns multinationals and WHERE they pay their tax

I wasn't aware that you had addressed this or that even if you did no one else could discussed it .

It's all in the timing and what trash was being put out then  ,the garbage mind numbing opinion dressed as 'news' ,free newspapers handed out with propaganda and slander (pre election ) ,our PM  saying he doesn't know about it (guilt or just stupid or hoping that we are and will remain stupid ?) , no comment on it from Murdoch ,his and others attack (scapegoating, fear mongering, self serving) on needy people

I think it is relevant,  if Murdoch can be demonized on here to prop up a spurious and fallacious statement then so can the antics of Apple.

I think it's funny and not a positive sign for us and our Country when our Former Government is constantly criticised....in some kind of desperate attempt to excuse each and every thing our current one says and does which harms us.

it's like a kid doing the...but but but ..such and such did this

as though that makes what they do wrong OK

I believe people will stop referencing the failures and dysfunction of the last Labor govt when the massive problems they caused and the mess they left is rectified.

I can't see Labor getting back for a deade or more because voters will never be able to forget just how incompetant and dishonest they were and still are.

Time will tell.

It was widely reported but perhaps Fairfax and Guadrian missed it in their haste to demonize Murdoch and the Liberals.

I'm of the view  that the greatest concern should be that the man we pay to run this Country for us told us he didn't know anything about it
