Does everyone deserve to be happy?

What do you think?

Is it even possible?

Happiness is from within.. it is a state of mind...

gratification and pleasure are derived from an external source.

pleasure centre is in the brain too.

Whilst in depression I could still get pleasure from life experiences... watching my kids grow, working and earning money... it didn't make me happy though.

Pleasures are usually temporary and transitory – they only satisfy the mind and the senses. Happiness, on the other hand, comes from the natural joy inherent in the soul and is ever present.

this sums it up pretty well...

Bullies Enjoy Seeing Others SufferRobert Roy Britt

You may recall the glint of joy in that bully's eyes way back when. Yes, he probably enjoyed it.

Psychologists have found it useful to distinguish between a hedonic and an eudaimonic states of happiness. A hedonic state is a transitory state of pleasure, while a eudaimonic state is one associated with ongoing wellbeing, engagement and contentment. Eudaimonia is based on Aristotle’s notion of the ‘good life’.

Sociologist Corey Keyes (2002) argues that wellbeing is more than just the absence of persistent negative emotions. His concept of ‘flourishers’ describes people who have high life satisfaction and/or enduring positive mood plus at least six of the following eudaimonic qualities:

Contributing to society

Social integration

Wide range of social groups

Accepting others

Self-acceptance

Mastery over their environment

Positive relationships with others

Autonomy

Personal growth

Purpose in life

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

Which proved that Jesus sacrificed nothing. Even historians all agree that there's no evidence Jesus ever resurrected.

If you want to have faith in something. Have it in something honourable and moral.

It was initially honourable and moral. Man changed that.

I understand what the message was, they were trying to create order and equality where there was none. I alternate between being agnostic or atheist.

they were also trying to ditch legalism, unfortunately they still use hebrew law books as guides.

if they ditched them and concentrated on the new covenant some progress might be made. (although i doubt they will)
