The carbon tax, the ETS and the compensating tax cuts would all be scrapped under a Coalition government. Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has promised instead to use taxpayers' funds to pay industry to cut emissions.

Yes, its a great plan . Taxpayers pay polluters to stop polluting.
what a fraud, he even claimed today that "direct action' was a more efficient method...
plant a tree, buy carbon credits for polluters using taxpayers money. how will this reduce carbon emmissions ? it wont. luckily for him (with a little help from murdoch FUD) the electorate is in the dark on this fraudulent approach.

"Ironically, although Tony Abbott keeps sledging the Government about not implementing measures recommended by the Henry tax Review, he is planning to axe one of the few changes that can be traced back to the findings of that Review"
In the meantime the ALP after listening to a Henry produced 138 recommendations, ignored most of them.

D9275: "Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has promised instead to use taxpayers' funds to pay industry to cut emissions."
How does that differ from the current system?
on 28-05-2013 09:51 PM
MM, there is no real difference except that one side calls it carbon tax, the other side calls it getting rid of carbon ax
