For heavens sake, did you read anything I wrote about what goes on at Children's Story Time at Australian libraries?

The books being read are the childrens classics...age appropriate for the children attending the particular session.   I can remember my children hearing Grimms Fairy Tales among others.  And after hearing some of the books they borrowed them from the library to read for themselves or have me read them at home.

If we are to believe the "experts" now we have scarred our children for life.

My girls are now 47 and 51 and have not had any lasting ill effects from the bloodcurdling stories they were subjected to.....and they also considered the same books suitable for my grandchildren.

How can anybody "insert" anything into the minds of developing little children at a Childrens Storytime?   There are parents there as well as the librarians......just nothing untoward happens but the kids get a love of books when they are read with so much passion by people who are used to "acting" the part and using different voices for different characters......far better than anything I could ever do.

Well, while it is admirable in (some eyes) that members of the Circle here want to defend the lovely drag queen story time to little kids, they don't defend the truth about fluoridation, genetic modification, cell phone tower radiation and chemicalization.

It seems quite strange that some of these here folk who love kids so much to support & praise the beautification and expansion of their minds with "Drag Queen Story Time"  do not care about the dangers of fluuoride, chemicals, radiation, GM food etc. on a young developing human being. Something just doesn't sit right here. Smiley Frustrated

Damned if I know what it is.

Re: Drag queens reading to kids

But don't you care about little kids? Obviously you believe that "Drag Queen Story Time" is for their betterment. So why don't you show the same concern and love for them when it comes to exposure to radiation and microwaves from cellphone towers, damage from fluoridation, sickness from GM food and lifetime medical problems from chemical exposure?

Shouldn't your love and concern be right across the board?

Axctually, not a bad idea. I might just do that.

No doubt the person I direct that question to as I have here may not give me a direct answer.

Having read the threads about fluoride, chemicals, radiation GM foods etc. I can see that there is no point in joining in.....you have your own ideas and no other opinions or proof will be looked at.

I will however say one thing about fluoride.  I have used fluoridated water for most of my adult life and my teeth were always very good.   For various reasons I took to using bottled water a few years ago and my teeth have deteriorated badly.

I wish I had thought to use fluoride tablets before the damage was irreversible.

As for this thread.....it is the same situation.....no matter how much proof is produced to show that there are more benefits from Storytime at the Library than there are drawbacks, you simply refuse to acknowledge that maybe parents are capable of making decisions for their own children.

The drag queens reading stories is quite new and so far I have not seen any evidence that there is a problem.....and maybe accept that nothing happens at these readings when there are plenty of responsible adults present.

Just seeing a man dressed as a women does not scar children for life.....most of them take it far more in their stride than you obviously do.
