NEW legislation will bring in compulsory blood tests for drugs for drivers involved in crashes that cause a fatality or seriously injure
someone. The new laws will be a first in Australia.
Just saw it on facebook via a local paper, but couldnt see any news articles about it.
I think its a great idea, why werent they already doing it I wonder?
Presumably they already test for alcohol in these situations. Drugs are just as bad, some worse, as far as hindering the ability to drive safely.
I wonder exactly what drugs they will test for?

115km over 100km ? That is 215km/h ............... hmmmm when I lived in Europe, about 200km plus was what I would drive across Germany, in France the speed limit was 165km/h back then. I found it very difficult to go back to driving 100 and less; it is all relative, I remember my grandfather worrying about driving 60 🙂

I would like to see the drivers of cars involved in such accidents to have a mandatory check made on their mobile phone-call records, just to make sure that they weren't on the phone at the time.

Extreemly graphic, but presents a good case for driving sober, or just driving safer in general. I think about this and what can happen often when I'm on the road.
Paying attention PAYS !
