Read that ... that's the Catholic interpretation of The Bible - the reasons they give are their own interpretation - not the Bible's.

Well of course its the Catholic interpretation :^O

You said 'go back to the source' and 'the Bible never changes' - I asked where in the BIBLE it says elders/teachers (ie what Catholic's call Priests)  never to marry. Not where Catholic Rules say that.

Please explain? Why would a priest, who resigned and is no longer a priest, or even a Catholic - have to get the Pope's permission to marry???

Because it is a Sacrament - Holy Orders

Whose Sacrament / holy orders? The Bibles or the Churches? In that scenario - the Man (ex Priest) or woman (ex Nun) is NO LONGER under The Churches Holy Orders is he/she? He/she has chosen to leave and live another life.  It's strikes me as like other churches - the ones who say 'once in always in' - you cannot leave - you know the ones that you see on TV. Like a secret society?

It's like saying once you work for McDonalds, you must NEVER leave and work for KFC - unless you get the permission of the McDonalds CEO, or the McDonald's Police will come and arrest you.

sorry Rabbit, i didnt read that properly....I understood that to mean that if the priest wanted to marry in the Church, he would have to first be dispensed from the Sacrament  It would be like getting married twice in a Catholic Church.  The only way it is possible if the Marriage is annulled (or the spouse passes away)   The Church cant actually stop anyone from getting married under civil law or any other Church.  The same would apply to ex-priests.  The Pope/Church cannot stop them from getting married (apart from marrying in the Catholic Church)  I know it seems to say otherwise on that website but it simply does not make sense. The Pope/Church does not have that sort of authority.

Outspoken bishop Pat Buckley is set to have a civil partnership in Larne โ€” where he blesses gay and lesbian unions in his private independent chapel.

The maverick cleric (57) will tie the knot on February 8.

While the intention was posted at Larne Borough Council offices, it is thought that a follow-up service will take place at the chapel in The Oratory โ€” his residence which was owned by the Diocese of Down and Connor and which he refused to vacate when he was suspended as a priest.

The chapel, where the bishop celebrates Mass twice a week, has also been used as a wedding venue for the past 22 years.

Rabbit, take the Sacrament of Baptism for example.  I was Baptised in a Catholic Church.  This cannot be undone so  in the eyes of the Catholic Church,  as a Catholic, I have to follow the Church's teachings.  Can the Church force me to go to Church every Sunday? No.  Would the Church be able to stop me from getting a civil Divorce and remarrying outside  the Church?  No.
