Electricity Bills

Not sure if this has been done on here before but thought it may be interesting.

My bill was $460.44 with all the mod cons used, dishwasher reverse cycle air con most nights electric cooking, hot water, Outside lights on few hours of a night, washing a few loads a day, Air con used few hours most days. We don't use the dryer. We watch TV 1hr each night for the news and then its turned off as we dont allow the children to watch it, They have to do school work and bible study.

We mainly only use electricity from 5-10pm and around 2hrs of a morning as we work full time and children are in before and after school care as well attending church Saturday as well sport and church/bible study on sunday's so roughly the same times each day we use the electricity, The fridge/freezer obviously going 24/7

We don't have a gas connection where we live.

Re: Electricity Bills

which bit did you want to chat about? the electricity bill?

the children not being allowed to watch tv?

the amount of bible study they do?

the amount of time they are in care?

how much time they are in church?

or... not having gas?

Our bill is around that and someone is always here, tv on, children playing, computer, sewing machine, shed tools etc.

Re: Electricity Bills

To discuss your power bill cost (I guess that is what is up for discussion?) we need to know how many people live in your house (and what size your washing machine is;-)

Re: Electricity Bills

Modern day TV apart from the news is not educational ( we do discuss the news each night which the children will either go look in books or the Internet if a answer cannot be located through one of our books,

I'm sure If i allowed them to sit in front of the TV they aren't going to be well educated to get them through life,

They have a full 3hr session after school including  teachings from the bible including a few hours over the weekend, We want our children to be able to grow into full educated adults that will gain excellant skills and knowledge that will gain  employment.

Currently they are getting A's and B's which getting a B is Ok but they are to try harder for next time and we meet with the teachers to discuss how can we go about getting a better result and work on it.

I feel To many kids these days are stuck in front of the TV,Internet, uneducational activity or out roaming the streets which the majority end up growing up to work in lower grade jobs have drug problems out of control behaviours an such, Because ''most'' of the parents are to uninterested in teaching them at an early age so i believe i'm doing all i can to prevent that and have very well behaved kids which they know what happens if they push the limits.
