No, usually don't until a few days before the big day but this year, most of my children are visiting their in law side, we do year about.... so our Christmas family get together is December 13th. Guess I need to get to it but we have 3 birthdays before that.

I can't even get my head around how this year has flown.
Have done some shopping, but nowhere near finished.
We were supposed to be doing a Secret Santa this year,
but not everyone agreed.
So it's bankruptcy for Grandma, now that even the grandkids
have partners that I have to buy for!

we are similar Az- we have 4 birthdays to go between now and Christmas, with one being on the 21st Dec. Usually I am much more organized than this year, but I know I'll be able to pul it all together for Christmas at the last minute

I love the sound of your Christmas, Flashie. Ours tend to be a bit quieter these days, since all the grandchildren hav grown up. We do have one Christmas tradition though - the telling of The Octopus Joke This is a silly joke about a man who buys an octopus and is warned never to put it down on a flat surface. It was first told by my no 4 son at a Christmas gathering about 20 years ago and he has been made to tell it every year since - though last year he passed the baton on to his nephew. As I said it is a really silly joke that depends almost entirelyon body language for its humour, but we still fall about laughing every time we heear it, even though we all know it off by heart.
You would have to actually be there (preferably with a few drinks under your belt) to appreciate it fully. but this will give you some idea.
