Explain this to me: People lining up for iphones.

This has to be a mental disease right?????

Why do people line up overnight just to get one of the first phones??? What does it actually achieve?

Watched an old show the other day, where the person had a "pager"   He had to find a phonebox to ring in for the message.

Yet I don't see her crying  about the war in Syria or the spread of ebola. I wouldn't even call this first world problem. This is just crazy.

Those new phones are a mystery to me.

My young bloke was adjusting the set top box and rabbit ear aerial on my TV recently.

Asked -which way is Mt Tassie (where the signals come from)--i pointed roughly out the window.

Then i said --we need a compass.

Geez--in seconds-he turned the blaardy phone into a compass.lol.................Richo.

I was reading reviews when they came out Bob.  Some people just can't allow others to enjoy an experience or a new toy just because they don't want one.  Go save a Whale or something if it upsets you so much.

I used the compass once, it was handy! It wasn't my phone...I refuse to add another LARGE bill to my monthly communications bills. TV, phone, and internet, $160. Cell phone $30 every 3 months and that's where I draw the line. Although I have another laptop, cell, and pager that I don't pay for...but refuse on principle to pay another $80 a month.

Beware of the iphone...it is constantly tracking you and sharing that info with other sites. A jealous spouse can add an app that tracks you in real time and shows your exact location at all times....even when it's shut off. Info can be pulled off it by credit card scammers. The mic and camera can be activated from anywhere....a mobile spy.

Also...be careful not to post pictures taken with it. Unless you've disabled the feature it shows the exact location the picture was taken. I've met more than a few on the net who would gladly use it against you if they could. And then I'd have to find them, lol.

Re: Explain this to me: People lining up for iphones.

It's sad that people invest so much (not just $'s) in a material object. One that will be out of date before long.

I think they should buy one if they want to and can afford it, but all the hype & queuing for up to 24 hours just to be one of the first to get the latest iPhone is mad.
What a waste of police resources as well.

"People travelled from far and wide to be in Sydney, which was the first place in the world to get the new iPhone."

So which one are you going for?  The 6 or the 6 plus.  I want to have a look and hold first before I buy.
