Can't say I know anything about taking photos.
Don't go out looking for arty farty stuff to point a camera at.
Really not into that side of it.
I only take family photos and holiday snaps. My photos are my memories.
I only know to point it and press the button.
The camera decides whether it's a good pic or not.

And truly that's what I believe this comp to be about. amatuers aiming and pressing a button, however there should be no harm in improving your skills and asking for tips. It also encourages people to go out and find something to aim and shoot at.
The comp thread is a bit like the barrow of pumpkins at the edge of the road.
