Is anyone else watching this and if so, are you as confused and frustrated as I am after last nights episode?
What the hell was the "Rachel" thing all about.
First someone smashes a window to get onto a house and wanders round looking for someone called Rachel.
Then it seems Rachel has disappeared and a search party, led by the sheriff sets out to look for her.
Then, while everyone is away, the guy to whom the sheriff lent a rifle (after confiscating the keys to his snow mobile comes to retrurn the rifle and wanders round looking for him.
Then, next minute (unless I dozed off and missed a crucial scene) everyone is back and carrying on as normal, with no further mention of either the search or the missing girl, except for one brief scene where the sheriff is in the bar (I think) talking to a girl, whom I can only presume to be Rachel, and asking her where she went and whether she saw anyone. Her only response is to ask him if he wants a drink and after a loooooooooong, meaningful (?) silence he gets up and walks out.

so, is anyone still watching it?
Last night's episode the sheriff seems to be getting 'nicer' and it seems they are being influenced by some sort of virus that makes people kill each other?
Did you get what they were talking about when they autopsied the bear and then the girl?

Yes, I am still watching it. But I am sort of losing my patience with it. Would anybody happily stay in a house, which supposed to be empty, and there is a projector running? And then when the little girl says she thought she saw her fugitive father, she is told she dreamt it and they both go to sleep? I would let the sheriff search the house. Or maybe they are all slowly losing their mind, and in the end they all kill each other?

i think they found similar anomalies in the brains of the bear and the dead woman that indicated they were on the right track with their idea that the apex predators were being poisoned by some pollutant.
But I admit to having read some stuff from the UK where this series has recently ended and the truth is far stranger than you would guess

I thought it had something to do with the mammoth that was found. Those that have gone off the deep end had contact with the carcass.

Yes, that's what I thought they said, but, in the shorts for next week, it seemed to be implied that it was catching / airborne? I guess we'll have to wait until next week.
The other mysteries :
1. what happened in the first episode, the one where the guy was being eaten by the bear and his mate shot him - what was the sherrif doing there?
2. what does the storyline about the mammoth have to do with the main story?

I was typing when you posted this.
But the little boy didn't have anything to do with the mammoth did he?
The guy that sawed the tusks off and then went 'bush' with his daughter. He tried to go on the boat to sell the tusks, and the boat owner double-crossed him. Did he die? Well, he made it back to his house, that's where the projector was running? He was attacked by something and was gone when his daughter arrived at their house.

The little boy and the girl had a part of the mammoth in the first episode, I think it was a tooth.
I missed the episode on the long weekend, so am trying to piece it together from the shorts before last night's episode started.

I'm going to have to buy the set and watch it again to get the whole plot.
