I was just trying to remember the last time i had a big family Christmas day.
It was 10 years ago.
I dont have a big family, most of my relatives are in England but i did have my parents, one set of Grandparents, my sister and her family and my family.
10 years ago was the last time we were all together for Christmas.
It was loud and hectic.
But what i wouldnt give for one more Christmas with us all together.
So, cherish these festive times with your relatives. I know they can drive you a bit insane but, trust me, you will miss them when they are no more

We go to a restaurant and happy to pay 120 a head, have a nice meal and nice wine and go home for a nanny nap before starting again for the night and boxing day.

My nana, then my mum did the traditional Christmas for all those years, then it was my turn..............this year is the "in law" year, so only 2 of my children are here this year but have in law Christmas morning as well, so I am going to my dil's parents for lunch, down the coast.
My OH and FIL are going to Hobart.

Why not take over your mothers tradition as I did?

There is only OH and me, my daughter her OH and the 2 grandies & the only other family members are my inlaws, sister in law, MIL and 2 nephews.
One of OH's brothers lives at Mallacoota is the chemist there and on duty. OH's younger brother goes with his partner to her family.......
When I first married OH, Xmas was always at MIL's down at Rosebud, all the family & extended family went and everyones kids, now the kids have grown up and do their own thing, some of MIL's siblings have died, her Husband died and my brother in law died, I miss the Xmas's at Rosebud.
Still this Xmas we will all go to OH's sister & MIL, they live in Belgrave.
When family members get older and are no longer with us, every Christmas is just not the same.
