Even quicker for a choccie fix was eating a block of chocolate. Took five seconds to prepare.

Re: Fancy some cake in 5 minutes?

The first I heard about cake in a cup was via a post on Facebook and she had experimeted with recipes as

she wanted a quick "fix" and a cake took to long to make.

Now cake manufactures have mug recipes for the ones that want that quick "fix",(at a $1 or more each).

You probably get 10 or more mug cakes to make up a standard cake so that's a $10 plus cake, tease.gif

I'll stick with the chocalate bars as well, good.gif

Re: Fancy some cake in 5 minutes?

I think the one I make costs a few cents to make. Although I've never really costed it. Let me think. $1.50 for a kilo of flour. About the same for 2kg of sugar. $1 per litre of milk (I buy the dearer milk from a local dairy, so dearer for me). $2 for 250g cocoa. $2 for a litre of vegetable oil. All amounts are guesstimates as I usually always have these things on hand and it's been awhile since I stocked.Total cost $8. For that, I can probably make 50 mug cakes!

I timed myself making that one the other night. From the time I opened the cupboard to get the ingredients out to when I put the spoon in it to take the first mouthful, 6 minutes.
