I do most of the flat pack assembly at our place.
Not that it's been much, a cpl of bookshelves and a telephone table with shelves, easy enough
One time we had to assemble a futon for a spare room, hubs helped me with that, but generally leaves it to me.
This morning I was driving to work I saw a handyman's van with FLAT PACK ASSEMBLY SPECIALIST emblazoned on it.
I know there's probably more complicated things to assemble than bookshelves, but really?
You can hire a specialist to do your flat pack assembly now?
Very enterprising.

Well maybe it's not such a bad idea - I used to do my own assembly and worked it out okay even though I'd always have a screw or two
over, lol ......... but now my knees just won't let me crawl all over the floor. Well the crawling is not the problem but the
getting up is.

That is not particularly new Icy.
We bought some flatpack book shelves from Ikea many years ago...when they only had one store in Sydney. At the checkouts they had flyers with contact details for people who would do the assembly for you.

reply to Icy...
Elderly people, and people like me, who would no doubt have more than one screw left over and a few screws loose by the end of it.
A Sunshine Coast based furniture importer/retailer actually offers this service to customers, FOC when they purchase a FP item, I guess it just makes things easier, and beleive me they do a roaring trade.
Probably covers them as well regards warranty, if someone (like me) put it together, and it disintegeated a day later the manufacturer would have to pay the claim unless they specifically said you can not DIY - which is what flat pack is all about.

I once had a customer who paid me to assemble a big entertainment center. I earned that 25 bucks.........

I assembled my flat pack kitchen myself, with a little help for the tall cupboards, from my 14 yo niece. I love it!

I must be a screw loose myself, but I love putting together flatpacks. It is a real challenge. OH thinks I am nuts, but that is noting new.

I dont mind it either, it's a challenge.
I did our futon, as well, that we keep as a day bed. Hubs helped me with that, though. We made a mistake with that, putting long screws where we should've put the short screws.
So we had to undo it and do it over.
