Bluddy hell - that's huge,  compared to Stonehenge

I'll be interested to see what they make of it.

Keeping in mind the ancient 'sword type weapon' that scientists discovered

recently,  was proven to be a musical intrument!

I remember reports years ago that the fossilised remains of Noah's Ark had been found on  Mt Arrarat. - it turned out to be a natural rock formation.Smiley LOL

Still, modern archeology is fairly good at sorting fact from fictionI think they've believed for quite a while that there were probably other, older structuresaround Stonehenge  , and if it does turn out to be genuine it would be very exciting indeed.

Beggars imagination if a didgeridoo was found - further down the track - what they would make of it.

Would it enter their heads to blow.

I visited Stonehenge in the early Autumn, it was an awe inspiring sight as the morning mist rose.

We stood at the viewing platform, shivering slightly in the cold, or perhaps it was the place weaving it's ancient magic...

We could see dark figures moving around the stones, touching them, caressing them, as though playing out some long forgotten ritual...

(Ooh, spooky! emoticon).

A party of blind people had been given special permission to go up to the stones, usually a restricted area, so that they too could experience Stonehenge.

Definitely one of the high points of going to the UK.

You obviously got the full benefit of it from the time of year, time ovf day and the people moving among the stones.I can understand how you felt. I've been there too, I didn't have great expectations - thought it would be very touristy and over commercialised - but once you are actually on the site,  you forget the gift shop and the access underpass and all the traffic whizzing by on the A303  and there really is something quite primevel and awe inspiring about it.
