While voting I had to ask for another voting paper.
There was a woman in the next booth to me who had her child with her and she was explaining to him how to vote and she said to him write 10 in this box and i lost concentration and wrote down 10 and I then had 2 no 10's

She shouldn't have been speaking to the child or anyone else........silence is the method for voting and not making other voters lose their concentration, especially for the senate vote......and holding up people in the queue.
I would have shhhhh her.

Yeah, there should be a fence outside to tie the children up to so they can't distract voters.

Had a similar thing. What I found really sad was hearing people say they couldn't be bothered filling in below the line. We then deserve the government we get. A few minutes every 3 years to determine how our country should be run is not a lot to ask. We should feel privileged we have the choice.
One woman next to me complained the whole time and made it clear she was only going above the line and whinged and wailed about the size of the paper. I came close to telling her to shut up but held my tongue.

The child wasn't the distraction.....the mother was.

I dislike those small carboard booths they expect you to stand in, all very close to each other.. I am sure there were better booths in the old days! Someone left three different parties how to vote cards in the booth I got, so I ditched them over the rope.
It was a fairly small room that I voted in yesterday and it was not quiet in there... booths were close to where you get ticked off on one side on the other side behind a rope were official staff doing stuff and talking.
