My elderly Aunt used to say that too Margo.. age is only a number. She was pretty active and lived a long life.

Your aunt was a smart lady am*3
Another way to stay young and healthy is to stay right away from doctors they tend to make you sick.
They keep sending you for tests till they find enough wrong to send you for more tests.
I don't use them at all. B-)

i won't be 50 for ages yet .... well at least 2 months :_|. i intend growing old disgracefully. i have had arthritis for a while and overweight but otherwise pretty good. i hate how the body ages but the mind stays young. i still feel 20. probably because i have never had children i have never grown up in many ways.

well, im 45. :-x
I noticed a decrease in my *ability* prob in the last 3yrs. I have gained weight (middddddle aged spread no doubt!!) LOL
Things i used to be fastidious about, no longer seem inportant to me (scrubbing the shower) *sigh* im just tooooooooo tired all the time after my working week.
(so i got a cleaner! LOL)
I had to get glasses this year! Hate hate hate them, but cant see well without them.
I groan, moan, ache and complain... and thats just to get up off the lounge!! haha
I guess, the biggest thing for me now, is driving. I *was* an excellent driver. (pat self on the back!) Now, i find i seem to be losing my excellent driving skills. I will avoid driving if i can, avoid going into town if i can. Driving at night is almost a no-go these days, just too hard for me to see. Driving at 50kms used to annoy the bejesus outta me, now its a godsend! LOL
My memory is shot to pieces. (this does concern me as father had Dementia), least i still know the name of my children. Its just getting the name to the right face, thats the issue at hand! 😉 **cheeky smirk**
If i get another 30-40yrs, i will be satisfied. 🙂

Jane, re the night driving thing and sight issues, talk to your eye specialist as these were the signals that I had and they were caused by cataracts. Could be your driving is as good as ever, just some eye issues that can be fixed.

I'm male but I'll have a go.
Hold a pencil horizontally under boob.
If pencil drops(when you let go) then you are still on terra firma.
If pencil goes nowhere then odds are you are en route to free fall:-(
jonnjenn, you are not supposed to know things like that. That is secret women's business.:^O

When you clean out your wardrobe and take the clothes to the markets and the kids all want to buy the retro/vintage gear, or you have a garage sale and the antique dealers haggle over your furniture bits. The biggest shock was yesterday when I went to the Doc and was asked if I drank alcohol. Very sheepishly I said that I had a glass of wine with my dinner each night. The very young doc patted my hand and said that at my age I could quite safely have 2 or 3 glasses as it would not make much difference to life expectancy. I felt like putting him over my knee and spanking him.X-(

Do you think you have grown older gradually or did some things just seem to happen overnight?
Talking about aches and pains, flexibility, fitness etc.
I'll let you know when I have passed the magic number in a few years 🙂 B-)
