So if it is halal certified and cheaper you wont eat it even though it wont make a blind bit of difference?
Not that you wouldn't eat it. You wouldn't buy it because you object to a certification put on it that is really meaningless but someone is having to pay for it for no good reason other than it's someone's religion.

So they buy a more expensive product that is not Halal, then they don't have to complain about paying for it, is that what you mean? The argument against Halal seems to be a bit weak to me.

Firstly most protest against certification because they want it to be better.
Secondly Halal Certification DOES NOT make a product halal - how is it that so many people don't get that?
A Muslim can eat anything they want, without certification. Any food can be Halal if it complies with the requirements of the Qur'an. Paying for certification is not a requirement within the Qur'an.
Ever met a Muslim that refused to drink water from a tap because it wasn't certified? You won't because they aren't that stupid. Many companies produce halal products without paying a cent in certification, they're the real companies that should be supported.
So again, protesting against halal certification DOES NOT deny a muslim Halal food. The argument that it does is nonsense.

Actually Inglewood have just announced that their chickens are cheaper and profits greater since they dropped Halal Certification.

Someone IS paying for it though, aren't they? Usually it's the food producer and seeing we're living in Aus, it's the Aussie food producer, who still is passing the cost on to the consumer. The fact that volume makes it cheaper simply means that producer has to supply more, work harder, for a slimmer profit margin.
is that what you mean? The argument against Halal seems to be a bit weak to me.
It's a matter of principle I guess, and some ppl have no principles, or very weak ones.

yep and Muslims eat non certified food every single day.
Actually the Halal Guys in the States operated without any certification for years, it's only recently they took it on.

well obviously it shows that Muslims don't need to be able to profit from food in order to be able to consume it, which is what you argued when you suggested protesting against Halal Certification moved to deny Muslims food.
