I went to 7-Eleven tonight to get a bite to eat, grabbed a Four'n Twenty pie and gosh it was halal.
Traitors! How can they do this?
I put it back in the warmer then drove to a local Italian restaurant and we had pasta carbonara.

Just because ONE religion slaughters their meat differently, and whilst others don't agree with our meat being slaughtered by knife and bled, with the odd prayer and facing to east, how do you think our meat was slaughtered years ago. Minus the prayer and east facing, I don't believe our slaughterhouses would allow any more cruelty than what happens with normal kill.
I was talking to a muslim last Saturday whilst eating the halal lunch that he had just cooked for me, and I asked him exactly what halal meant and he said food that muslims are allowed to eat, and the meat must be bled.
I know that a few people (most post on cs) don't want muslims in Australia, so what do you want to do. Starve them out.
As regard to other religion poisoning everything what do you mean.

Given that Sikhs are forbidden to eat Halal meat, isn't this catering to one religious group while at the same time time discriminating against another.

Hi bushie.
I don't think so because the food that the Sikhs can eat is readily available.

If it is not marked as such it wouldn't be, one would hope. Also it is really quite bloody which to me would state not halal.
I think there would only be a percentage of our meat that is halal.
I just see it as giving choices.
I tried halal on Saturday as I said. I still like the juicy unhealthy steak though

CM If it isn't marked Halal, then one would assume it isn't? I wonder if they have a separate section for Halal meat ..... I never buy meat from WW or Coles, maybe they have a separate sections for each.
