What do you know about it?
I was told that one Mason could identify another Mason by shaking hands with them.
Apparently they have some special secret handshake.

What does her boss do about the behaviour?
No one should have to put up with that at work.
Or is the behaviour tolerated in order to keep the booking?
Her boss is somewhat eccentric. He tells her to suck it up and get over it she tells him where to go. And yeah they make a lot of money from them, they don't hold back in sparing no expense.

That is a lovely story Wicks...you can tell that you miss him.
My husband is a Freemason. So is my father though no longer an active participant...he wears a ring though. My Uncle has had a major role in the past and my husband is a Grand Master which means the head of his chapter.
As I understand it in our metropolitan city...chapters are generally like minded...as in my husband's they are connected to the Emergency Services. There are others aligned to journalism, medicine, law etc...
Members watch for people that uphold the values of freemasonry in their work and day to day life. That person may be discussed within the chapter as to their approach to join.
They must be nominated by a member (brother),the members are known as brethren.
There are monthly meetings and members can attend the meetings of other chapters on special occasions. Yearly there is a ceremony to install the positions of the brethren...women(and children or guests) cannot attend the ceremony but are included at the dinner afterwards.
It is a lively event and the guests are privy to some of the ways of the movement.
They raise money for community works look after fellow brothers in times of need. All I have met are great blokes(young and old). They do good work.

When I was younger, it used to be somewhere to go to get away from their wives once a week, much like the army reserve.

What a lovely story wicks.
My father in law was a mason & he was one of the best men I ever knew.
I suppose there's always some on here who will find something negative to say about anything, some on here who will allude to politics & religion.
