Friend at the library

I'm back at the camper now, but earlier, i was at the library, sitting on the computer downloading some youtube stuff to watch later here. Heard this meow, and again, OMG, broke my heart, a little all black furry friend was begging to get in out of the cold. it was the side access door only employees use. I went out the front and walked to the side of the building, sat down on a side ledge by the loading entrance, and called her over, she jumped up in my lap and i pet her, she looked well fed and was a beautiful well groomed cat so i'm guessing she belonged to one of the houses down that side street.

I went back in and again, right at that door begging for me to let her in. I wanted to so bad. I told one of the library employees that if i was sure she was a stray, i'd take her.

thinking about going back when the library reopens to visit my little friend. As much as i want to, my better judgment tells me not to bring her any food and encourage her to stay or hang around.

just thought i'd share

If she looks well fed, Joanie, she probably belongs to someone close by.

Some cats are non-stop talkers.

I wouldn't translate that as  'let me in' or 'feed me' or 'take me home with you'

Nice. I love chance happenings like that.

I was riding my bike along Patterson river in Melbourne and a small black kitten came in front of me.

Looked like someone had tried to drown a litter and this one survived.

Well, it climbed up on my bike as to say save me. I was running late to catch a country train and put it back down thinking the people walking behind me will pick it up. As soon as I put it back on the path it climbed my bike again constantly meowing.

It was clinging to my bike and wouldn't let go, I couldn't get away from it, so I put it in my back pack and rode.

It kept meowing on the train and all the children wanted to pat it. Gave it some water as it was very thirsty.

I arrived at my sisters house and gave it some cat food. It scoffed it down, I have never seen a cat eat so fast. It was obviously very hungry.

It lived with us for about a week and loved getting walnuts out of our bowl then chase them all over. When it lost one, it would just go and get another out of the bowl on the table and chase it. Hilarious.

I needed to come back to Melbourne and carried the kitten in my backpack. It seemed to like being in my backpack with it's head sticking out the top while I rode my bike. I new I needed to find it a home upon my return.

At the train station I met an Eqyptian father and his grown daughter, they wanted to pat the kitten.

They told me the mother was at home because she is still grieving the loss of their black cat of 17 years.

CAN YOU BELEIVE IT? I thought, there is something greater at work here. So I told them my story and said please give this kitten to your mother, as I felt it is meant to be. And being Egyptian as well, they worship cats.

I still think it amazing when I think of it.

It's a wonderful world, you just don't know what terrific adventures lie around the corner each day.

Thank you for keeping an eye on her.  She may have been left behind by people who moved, or - at this time of year - dumped by people who won't pay boarding fees over the holidays.

Thanks for sharing Kopenhagen. I love a good animal rescue story.

Throughout my life I have had four rescued cats, each one a different story, each cat a different personality, but each and every one have given so much love and pleasure to me and my family.

I live in a Retirement Village now and we are not allowed to have a cat or a dog. We can have fish in a tank or a bird in a cage, but I hate to see animals in restricted environments.

I miss having a real pet.

At my brother's place the other day, there upon the headrest of the lounge was a soft furry white cat .  Walked past  it, it meowed.  Then it purred.   I thought it was strange for my SIL to have an animal in the house. Most unusual.

Anyway, I saw a movement on the lounge a little later.  The soft furry white cat was licking its paw, then rubbing its ear, with a meow.

Mentioned to brother that I was suprised they had a cat in the house.

It was a "pretend" one.  So realistic. And it didn't trip anyone as has happened in the past.

I do not know about the one your brother has, but there are some made in China and they use real cat fur to make them ๐Ÿ˜ž
