Hello everyone
I have recently been told to go gluten free and lactose free and looking for some great ideas.
Lunch and dinners.. I take my lunch to work everyday, no shops around to be tempted. Need some ideas what i can prepare and take other than just salads....and some tasty ideas for dinners.
Greatly appreciate anyone that takes the time to answer.
thank you

There are lots of gluten/lactose free products ( including breads, pastas, butter-type replacments, yoghurts etc) readily avaiable in supermarkets these days. Using these items with fresh/unprocesse items makes preparing gluten/wheat/lactose free diets a lot easier than in was a few years ago. Health food stores are also a good source of alternatives. Some bakeries offer wheat/gluten-free baked goods and there are quite a few good cook books around for allergy-free recipes. Plus, Google is always your friend!

Thank you I will go through that website.
I have been to the local library and borrowed a few books....so just a matter of trying a few different ones out.

If you really think about it, it can't be that hard omitting dairy and wheat.
Even the good old Sunday roast would fit the bill.
Meat and veg are gluten and dairy free.
Make gravy from pan juices and thicken with corn flour (not wheaten flour)
Plenty of gluten free breads available at supermarkets to make sandwiches for lunch

The gluten free bread from the supermarket used to be rather solid and heavy and a bit tasteless. Better for toast than sandwiches.
It may have improved since I bought it though.

I have an immune system that works. Possibly because I haven't avoided germs all my life so I have a tolerance for them.
Guess what? Health professionals agree.

Almost!
When I was 17 my doctor ordered me to eat 6,000 calories a day to put weight on.
I weighed 38 kilos. No, I wasn't anorexic - just plain skinny. Couldn't get fat.
I had to have a doctors note for work to be able to eat at my desk. He wanted me
to eat as often as possible.
He suggested I eat cream cakes. It didn't work. I got married 3 years later and
I weighed a whopping 40 kilos
